Columbia River Crossing team displays bridge options
Open house meetings are being held this week to discuss options for providing additional capacity along the I-5 highway across the Columbia River between the US cities of Vancouver in Washington and Portland in Oregon. Latest proposals for the Columbia River Crossing will be unveiled at the meetings, in order to gather public feedback on which of more than 20 ideas should move forward. The I-5 is the only continuous north-south interstate highway on the west coast. The existing 88-year-old bridge is heavily congested and the nearest major river crossing 10km to the east is also reaching its peak-hour capacity.
